The rate of coronavirus deaths in Spain slowed for a third straight day as the European nation reported 674 deaths compared to 809 a day earlier, as the country began its fourth week under a near-total lockdown.

Meanwhile, Iran’s president announced that “low-risk” economic activities would resume from April 11 in the Middle Eastern country worst-affected by the new coronavirus.

US President Donald Trump has warned the United States is entering what could be its “toughest” week yet as the number of coronavirus cases in the country surged past 300,000.

Globally, the death toll surpassed 65,700, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, and the number of infections rose above 1.2 million.
