After a woman receives two COVID-19 vaccinations, an investigation is launched

The husband of a woman who went to get the COVID-19 vaccine at a vaccination centre in Kandy yesterday (21) has complained to the Police that his wife had been given two COVID jabs.

The woman, who had gone to the Augastawatte COVID-19 vaccination centre had fainted at the scene and had been assisted by the health officials. She was later sent home after regaining consciousness.

The husband in his complaint has said that his wife was admitted to the Peradeniya Hospital after fainting again at home and she had been given two COVID jabs.

Central Provincial Health Services Director Dr. Nihal Weerasuriya said that he had received a complaint that a woman had been given two COVID vaccines at the Augustawatta Vaccination Centre and that the doctor in charge of the centre had been instructed to conduct an investigation into the matter
