Covid-19 patient count hits 1,861 with two fresh cases

Two fresh cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Sri Lanka, says the Ministry of Health.

One a returnee from Qatar who is under quarantine at the facility in Palagahatenna. The other one is a returnee from Mumbai, India at the Diyatalawa quarantine centre.

With these additions, the total number of coronavirus cases detected so far escalated to 1,861.

According to the Epidemiology Unit’s tally, 728 active cases are currently under medical care at selected hospitals in the country.

Meanwhile, 65 COVID-19 patients returned to health earlier today (10) as the count of recoveries recorded from Sri Lanka reached 1,122.

Sri Lanka has witnessed 11 deaths from the novel coronavirus so far.
