Issuing a letter to the President, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya states that he has been requested to protect the privileges of Ranil Wickremesinghe until the person with the confidence of a majority in Parliament is established as Prime Minister.
He further requested, to not let an unfavourable situation arise in the country under the circumstances of allowing the parliament to be inactive for 20 days, until the 16th of November.
