Germany receives a sapling of sacred Sri Maha Bodhi

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin ceremonially received a sapling of the Sacred Sri Maha Bodhi on September 27, marking yet another milestone in Sri Lanka – German diplomatic relations.A delegation led by senior Buddhist monks including Ven. Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Nayaka Thera – Atamasthanadhipathi, Chief Sanghanayaka of North Central Province brought the sacred sapling from Sri Lanka to Germany.

The sapling, presented to Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Germany, Karunasena Hettiarachchi by Ven. Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Nayaka Thera at the Embassy premises, was planted ceremonially at the Frohnau Buddhist temple on September 30 with the participation of Sri Lankan and German Buddhists.
