IP Neomal Rangajeewa, who was arrested over the Welikada Prison clashes in 2012, has been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (27) as per the orders of the Court of Appeal.
A copy of the bail release order, issued by the Court of Appeal, was presented to the Colombo Additional Magistrate Piryantha Liyanage through a motion.
Considering the submissions, Colombo Additional Magistrate issued an order to release the suspect on two personal bail bonds, each valued at Rs 100,000.
IP Neomal Rangajeewawa was also ordered to present himself before the CID on the last Sunday of every month.
