The pilot project to administer the Pfizer vaccine to students of 18-19 year age group commenced in the Colombo District yesterday.
According to the Health Ministry sources, the vaccines were administered at the Homagama, Colombo, Jayawardenepura and Piliyandala educational zones.
The Government has decided to provide students in the age group of 18 – 19 with the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at schools on October 21.
Students have been instructed to participate in the vaccination programme with their identity cards.
