Twins and grandfather drown

Navy divers on Saturday evening found the bodies of the six year old twins and their grandfather who drowned in the Duwe Modera river in Kosgoda. These two boys are Grade One students of St.Aloysius College, Galle. This mishap had occurred when these two boys had gone for a swim in the river with their grandfather.

Their grandfather had also drowned while trying to rescue the drowining boys.

The deceased have been identified as Sasika Sasvidu Kandauda and Samika Sasvidu Kandauda, 6, of Dadalla, Galle and Angampodi Indika Rajkumar (60) of Nupe. The Kosgoda police with the support of residents in the area searched the bodies of the victims without success. Navy divers were called in to recover the bodies.
