COVID-19: SL to get 600,000 vaccines from India on Jan 27: President

Sri Lanka will receive a consignment of 600,000 vials of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines from India on January 27 as the first step, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said today.

Yesterday, the Indian High Commission in Colombo confirmed that the Indian authorities are working with Sri Lanka for the early delivery of the vaccines.

An Indian High Commission spokesman said the Sri Lankan government had already conveyed that the emergency use approval for COVISHIELD vaccines has been granted.
