President Gotabhaya Rajapaksha says that the political practice of not going to the village while in power has changed.
The President said that he will provide solutions to the problems of the people identified from the opposition and will create sustainable development for the village.
Punishment for the mistakes done is a duty of law. The President said that he is not ready to take political revenge like the previous government has done after intervening with it. The President has told the opposition to engage in politics fairly instead of taking the people on wrongdoings.

Instructions were also given to finish the work on the Ampara, Lathugala road soon. Lathugala – Bokkabadda – Athuloya road, Bakmitiyawa – Pannalgama, Mahaoya – Kuruduwinna roads were also decided to be completed soon. What are the roads. It has been decided to provide water to Padiyatala from Ragakanoya reservoir and to provide drinking water facilities to many villages including Tampitiya, Punavali, Malliyativu. It was decided to quickly renovate the Athulu lake of Yodhakandiya, Kotapatdamana, Lathugala, Hulanuge, Handapadagama.
