Three arrested with links to drugs trafficking network in Dubai

Three suspects, including a woman have been arrested in connection with their involvement with drug trafficking network being operated from Dubai, UAE.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects were arrested yesterday by the Kelaniya Division Crimes Unit officers.

“The suspects were identified as the local agents of the drug traffickers who are operating from Dubai. They allegedly involved in transporting and distributing drugs, which are smuggled into the country from Duabi, through sea routes.

The police will analyze their bank accounts to identify the monatary transactions carried out between Sri Lanka and UAE by the suspects and the trafficker,” he said.

The arrested would be detained for further investigation.
