Sri Lanka records three more COVID-19 deaths

Sri Lankan health authorities confirmed three deaths due to COVID-19 in the country, raising the death toll due to the virus up to 140.

A 98-year old male resident of Kotte who died at the Homagama Base Hospital on Sunday due to pneumonia – caused as a complication of the virus – was among the deceased.

Authorities identified an 80-year old man from Kahathuduwa as another fatality. He had died due to kidney failure – another complication of the virus  – on Saturday.

Among the deaths was a 71-year old man from Maggona who had also died due to pneumonia at the Intensive Care Unit of the Homagama Base Hospital on Saturday.
