The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health had reversed its decision to include a suicide victim to the country’s COVID-19 death toll.
On Monday (02) morning, the Epidemiology Unit said a 27-year-old male suicide victim was confirmed positive for COVID-19 following a postmortem PCR test.
However, it later added COVID-19 was not the cause of death and will only report deaths caused by COVID-19.
Accordingly, the number of COVID-19 deaths in Sri Lanka was revised to 21.
