275 Sri Lankans due to arrive in the island

Another 275 Sri Lankans are due to arrive in the Island from London, Europe, and Canada.

A special aircraft will be departing from Sri Lanka to repatriate them, Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Additional Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations said.

They are due to arrive in the island at 4.30 AM on Monday.

Meanwhile, steps will be taken to expedite the repatriation of Sri Lankans from the Middle East and the Maldives, Admiral Colombage added.

Meanwhile, a group of Sri Lankans stranded in the United Arab Emirates stated that they are looking forward to coming back to Sri Lanka.

A group of Sri Lankan fishermen in Mogadishu, Somalia, has requested the authorities to bring them back to Sri Lanka.
