A four-day dengue prevention program will be conducted from 4th to 7th of June within the limits of Colombo Municipal Council (CMC).
Under this program, all administrative district of the CMC will be inspected by a team consisting of one Public Health Inspector (PHI), one police officer and one officer of the Solid Waste Management Division, the local authority said in an announcement.
Concurrent to this, the drainage system and manholes within the Council’s limits will be also be cleaned during the aforesaid four-day period.
Legal action will be sought with regard to dengue mosquito breeding sites that will be identified during the inspection, the CMC added.
The Municipal Commissioner has requested the public assistance to keep the city of Colombo clean and free of mosquito breeding spots.
