The Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe says that the inquiries into the COVID-19 infections have been intensified.

However, he urges the public to alert the health authorities immediately if symptoms appear.

Accordingly, the public can inform the authorities through the hotline 1390 if they suffer from cough, cold and respiratory issues he said.

He further said that the upcoming time period until after the New Year will be critical as they would be able to gain some insight into the control of the spread of infection by April 17.

Thereby, the measures taken to curtail the virus spread in the country will have to continue until the end of the aforementioned time period, he added.
