First batch of quarantined persons to be released today

The first batch of persons to be quarantined after arriving in the country is due to leave the quarantine centers today (24) completing their quarantine period.

Accordingly, a group of 311 persons will be leaving quarantine premises today, stated Army Media Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe.

They had arrived from Italy, South Korea, and Iran after the novel coronavirus spread globally.

Reportedly, 203 persons from the Punani quarantine center and another 108 persons from the Kandakadu quarantine center will be allowed to leave their quarantine centers in this manner.

Sri Lanka Army will overlook their transportation until Kandy, Matara, and Galle. They will also be provided with lunch and children’s food by the Army.
