2 members of Navy intelligence remanded

The 2 navy intelligence personnel who were arrested by the CID for conducting a media briefing in a manner which threatened witnesses in the case pertaining to the kidnapping and disappearance of 11 youth, were remanded today till the 31st of this month.

The suspects were remanded after being produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage. The suspects who were remanded have been identified as Thushara Mendis and Kasthurige Gamini.

The duo who have been named as the 8th and 9th respondents in the case pertaining to the disappearance of 11 youth, were arrested while they were out on bail.
