Recommendations for the appointment of about 200 Heads and Directors for State Institutions have been sent to the presidential Secretariat. The recommendations have been made by the six-member panel appointed to nominate suitable persons to hold these positions.
Committee member Dr. Nalaka Godahewa noted that recommendations need to be made for up to 300 institutions, of which a decision has been made to combine 50.
A senior government official, Sumith Abeysinghe, is the chairman of the six-member panel. The other members are Susantha Ratnayake, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Dian Gomes, Dr. Prasanna Gunasena and Professor Jagath Wellawatte.
