An event was held in Ganangamuwa, Meegalawa to provide dry rations to the people who were severely affected by the recent inclement weather under the auspices of State Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara.
Equipment for academic activities were also handed over to students during the event.
Dayasiri Jayasekara noted that the government will have to pay the largest debt from 2020 to 2021. Despite the difficulty to pay the debt the government hasn’t given up on development activities and the government expects to bring in a large number of foreign investments soon.
“We are hoping to improve the economy and for that, we need foreign investments. We should not only talk about repaying the loans. There’s a challenge of achieving development while repaying the loans” he added.
