The Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar today (December 16) permitted former SATHOSA Chairman Nalin Fernando and Ex-Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage to travel overseas.
They are charged by the Bribery Commission for causing financial losses to the state, by purchasing 14,000 carrom boards and 14,000 draught boards through Lak Sathosa at a cost of Rs. 39mn.
Mahindananda Aluthgamage was permitted to travel to Singapore until the 28th of December on Medical Grounds and Nalin Fernando was allowed to fly to England from the 25th of December to the 07th of January.
The case will be called up again on the 27th of January and order on the preliminary objections raised by the defence would be delivered on that day.
