The Excise Department has sealed 4 liquor outlets in Negombo and Kiribathgoda that sold alcohol on Poya day. Commissioner-General of the Excise Department Kapila Kumarasinghe stated that serious legal action will be taken against the accused.
Meanwhile, two separate units have been set up to carry out excise related raids over the festive season, These raids are to continue till the 5th of January.
