The Sri Lanka Transport Board says a special bus service will be in operation today (November 19) and tomorrow (November 20). Deputy General Manager of the SLTB, R.T. Chandrasiri said, 5,800 buses have been added to its fleet in this regard.

He added, the aim of this special bus service is to allow those who travelled to their home towns during the Presidential Election, to return to main cities. Accordingly, steps have been taken for commuters to arrive at several main cities including Colombo from 12 areas, without any hindrance.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways adds all daily trains would operate as per the usual schedule. General Manager of the Department of Railways, Dilantha Fernando added, there is no need to add extra trains since the existing fleet is sufficient to meet commuters’ demands.
