“The law will take steps to send it back” – MP Gamini Jayawickrama Perera on the garbage crisis

The meeting of the cabinet members took place under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena, this morning (30th July). Following the meeting, MP Gamini Jayawickrama Perera spoke to the media. Few questions regarding the garbage containers were directed at him to which he made several statements.

He stated that he is not aware of what would happen to the garbage that has been brought into the country and legal steps will be taken to send it back. He further stated that cabinet papers were sent from the Environment Ministry which was put forward by the President himself and the Ministry of Megapolis.
