Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib has won the toss and elected to field first in their Cricket World Cup encounter against Sri Lanka at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

Both teams faced defeats at the hands of top sides – Australia and New Zealand – in the respective openers but there were a few positives to take from what were otherwise big defeats.

The Afghans have form on their side while the Lankans are reeling under the pressure of re-establishing themselves in ODI cricket.
