Dress code for state employees to be amended

The Ministry of Public Administration and Disaster Management states that steps have been taken to amend the circular which was issued declaring that it was mandatory to wear the official government attire (either saree or osari) for female employees.

The circular which was signed and issued by the secretary of ministry, J. Rathnasiri last Friday(May 31) added that male employees would have to wear a shirt/trouser or the national dress.

Minister of Public Administration and Disaster Management, Ranjith Madduma Bandara noted that a decision has been reached to amend the circular and reissue it.
