Door-to-door delivery of essential items from today

Considering the prevailing situation in the country, a program of delivery and sale of essential food items to homes will be launched today (25).

The program will be carried out by the Co-operative Wholesale Establishment in collaboration with  Lanka Sathosa.

A special operations unit has been set up to coordinate and direct these activities. This program is carried out by a Task Force headed by Basil Rajapaksa.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine has taken measures to keep pharmacies open during the curfew.

The diagnosis of the patient and the prescription can be used as a curfew pass, stated the Ministry.
