Private bus owners have requested the National Transport Commission (NTC) for permission for inter-provincial bus services to enter Colombo.

President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association Gemunu Wijeratne said that it would not be practical to run the bus services without permission to enter the Colombo city.

Wijeratne mentioned this following a meeting held with NTC with regard to recommencing inter-provincial bus services.

Bus operators are allowed to recommence inter-provincial bus services from tomorrow (May 26) onwards, the Ministry of Transport. However, these services will not be applicable to the Colombo and Gampaha districts.
