A special program will be implemented to ensure the security of passengers using public transport services, said Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Transport Services Management.
Minister Amaraweera said that officers at the Department of Railways, Sri Lanka Transport Board and the National Transport Commission have been instructed in this regard.
Under this new program, a set of guidelines has been issued, on cleaning buses and trains.
Minister Amaraweera said attention has been drawn towards disinfecting buses and trains, jointly with the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, the President’s Media Division said, measures are underway to instruct staff members at ministries, departments, corporations, and other government institutions on preventing the spread of the Coronavirus.
