Special COPE meeting on CBSL’s forensic audit report on bond scam

A special meeting of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) will be held in Parliament today (03) to discuss the prospective actions to be taken regarding bond scam based on the final report of the forensic audit of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

The COPE Chairman all members of the Committee have been informed to attend the meeting.

The Presidential Commission appointed to investigate the CBSL bond scam had made recommendations to the Central Bank to conduct the forensic audit, the Department of Communications of the Parliament said issuing a release.

The COPE has been briefed with regard to the aforesaid recommendations and the Committee has requested the CBSL to submit a full report on the conduct of the forensic audit.

The Seventh Parliament COPE Report on CBSL Bond Scam could not be submitted to Parliament due to the prorogation of Parliament where the Committee decided to re-examine it at the Eighth Parliament, the release said further.
