Prevailing showery condition over the Island is expected to continue today (22nd), the Department of Meteorology stated.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times over most places of the island.
Heavy falls above 150 mm can be expected at some places, particularly in Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts.
Heavy falls above 100 mm can be expected at some places elsewhere (particularly in North-central,North-western and Southern provinces).
