04 COVID-19 deaths reported on Sunday (22), death toll rises to 87

04 COVID-19 deaths were reported on Sunday (22) said the Department of Government Information.

The death toll in Sri Lanka as a result of COVID-19 rose to 87, said the Director General of Health Services.

The details of the 04 COVID-19 deaths are as follows:

01. A 70-year-old female from Colombo 15 who was dead upon admission to the National Hospital in Colombo. She had passed away on Saturday (21) and the cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.

02. A 53-year-old male from Colombo 12 who was dead upon admission to the National Hospital in Colombo. He had passed away on Friday (20) and the cause of death was ruled as chronic lung infection exacerbated by COVID-19.

03. An 84-year-old female from Borella who had passed away at he residence on Saturday (21). The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.

04. A 75-year-old male from Colombo 10 who was identified as a COVID-19 patient at the National Hospital in Colombo and was transferred to IDH where he passed away on Sunday (22) while receiving treatment at the ICU. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia,
