Covid-19 death toll in Sri Lanka climbs to 44

The Director General of Health Services has confirmed two more coronavirus deaths in the country today (11), increasing the death toll due to the virus in Sri Lanka to 44.

A 40-year-old, who is a resident of Colombo 11, died on admission to the Colombo National Hospital. The cause of the death is cited as a heart attack caused by the Covid-19 virus infection.

The other victim is a 45-year-old male from Kelaniya. He had been receiving treatment at the Hambanthota District Hospital since November 01 after being identified as Covid-19 positive.

The cause of the death is cited as a heart attack caused by the worsening of COvid-19 infection.

Accordingly, the death toll in Sri Lanka due to coronavirus has now increased to 44.

Three Covid-19 deaths have been reported so far today (11).

Earlier today it was confirmed that an 80-year-old male, a resident of Panadura, died on admission to the Police Hospital and that the postmortem revealed the cause of the death as a heart attack caused by the Covid-19 virus infection.
