Schools will be closed if situation gets worse : Education Ministry

The Sri Lankan Ministry of Education said if the present situation in the country surrounding COVID-19 continues, it will be compelled to close all schools, piriven institutions and other educational institutions across the island in order to assist with the measures taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

In a statement, the Education Ministry said an Information Center was set up with the involvement of Provincial Education Directors and Health Promotion Officers at the premises of the Ministry of Education.

The center can be contacted via the hotline 1988 or fax 011-2-78 58 18 and via email info@moe.gov.lk

Further, this Information Center will operate as a body to gather information relating to all localities where schools are located.
