The suspect who was arrested yesterday, Mohommed Abdul Cader Azeem had alleged connections to the now-banned National Thawheed Jamath Organization and he is to be produced before court today (July 31).
The police said that a detention order will be requested from the court to further interrogate the suspect. Mohammed Abdul Cader Azeem, who is said to have had close relationships with Zaharan was arrested in Katupotha yesterday.
The 28-year-old suspect is a resident of the same area. The police added that the suspect had participated in lectures and weapons training by Zahran Hashmi in the Nuwara Eliya area.
