Five more Covid-19 deaths reported; toll climbs to 165

The toll of Covid-19 deaths in Sri Lanka increased to 165 with five more Covid-19 related deaths being reported yesterday.

According to the Government Information Department, four males aged 72,76, 50, 86 and one female aged 86 are among the victims.

01. The deceased is a 72 year old male from Agalawatta. He died when admitted to Base Hospital, Agalawatta on 11.12.2020. The cause of death is Covid-19 infection and a heart attack due to high blood pressure (The death reported on 17.12.2020.)

02. The deceased is an 86 year old female from Maggona. She died on 15.12.2020 at her residence and the cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 infection and a heart attack due to high blood pressure (The death reported on 17.12.2020.)

03. The deceased is a 76 year old male from Colombo 15. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 infection and transferred from the General Hospital Colombo to Base HospitalHomagama where he died on 18.12.2020.The cause of death is an acute kidney disease and Covid pneumonia, (The death reported on 18.12.2020)

04. The deceased is a 50 year old male from Maharagama. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 and transferred from Colombo South Teaching Hospital to the Base Hospital Homagama, where he died on 18.12.2020. The cause of death is Covid Pneumonia. (The death reported on 18.12.2020)

05. The deceased is an 86 year old male from Wathupitiwala. He died at his residence on 18.12.2020. The cause of death is acute kidney disease due to the Covid 19 virus infection. (The death reported on 18.12.2020)
