COVID-19 death toll in Sri Lanka passes 100 mark with 08 new deaths

08 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed on Friday (27), raising Sri Lanka’s death toll to 107 deaths, reported the Department of Government Information quoting the Director General of Health Services.

The details of the confirmed COVID-19 deaths are:

01. An 87-year-old female from Colombo 13. She had passed away at her residence on the 23rd of November 2020. The cause of the death was ruled as a stroke and cardiac arrest caused by COVID-19 infection.

02. A 54-year-old female from Dematagoda, Colombo 09. She was confirmed positive to COVID-19 at the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital and was moved to the Homagama Base Hospital where she passed away on the 27th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as cancer and exacerbated COVID-19 pneumonia.

03. A 78-year-old female from Maradana. She had passed away at her residence on the 25th of November. The cause of death was ruled as a cardiac arrest related to COVID-19 infection.

04. A 36-year-old male from Colombo 15. He was confirmed positive to COVID-19 at the National Hospital in Colombo and was transferred to IDH where he passed away on the 27th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as chronic lung disease and exacerbated COVID-19.

05. An 83-year-old male from Colombo 02. He had passed away at his residence on the 26th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as a cardiac arrest related to COVID-19 infection.

06. A 58-year-old female from Maligawatte, Colombo 10. She had passed away at her residence on the 26th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease and a cardiac arrest related to COVID-19 infection.

07. A 69-year-old male from Colombo 13. He had passed away at his residence on the 25th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as chronic lung disease, asthma and exacerbated COVID-19 pneumonia.

08. A 70-year-old male from the Magazine Prison in Colombo. He had passed away at the Prison Hospital on the 25th of November. The cause of death was ruled as kidney infection exacerbated by COVID-19.
