04 COVID-19 deaths reported on Tuesday (24); death toll rises to 94

04 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed on Tuesday (24), raising the death toll in Sri Lanka to 94, said the Director General of Health Services, according to the Department of Government Information.

The details of Tuesday’s confirmed deaths are as follows:

01. A 74-year-old male from Ginigathhena. He was transferred from the Prison Hospital to the ICU of the Ragama Teaching Hospital and passed away on the 22nd of November. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 infection resulting in multiple organ failure.

02. A 54-year-old male from South Siyambalape. He had passed away at the National Hospital in Colombo on the 22nd of November. The cause of death was ruled as chronic kidney disease exacerbated by COVID-19.

03. A 73-year-old female from Colombo 15. She was detected as a COVID-19 patient and was transferred from the National Hospital in Colombo to the Homagama Base Hospital. She had passed away on the 24th of November. The cause of death was ruled as a stroke and COVID-19 pneumonia.

04. A 42-year-old male from Atalugama, Bandaragama. He was transferred to from the Panadura Base Hospital to IDH and passed away on the 24th of November. The cause of death was ruled as chronic liver disease exacerbated by COVID-19 and Cerebral edema which is also known as brain swelling.
