A special operation is underway in other provinces excluding the Western Province, to trace those who left the Western province following the issuance of the quarantine order, Police Spokesperson, DIG Ajith Rohana said.
“The quarantine order was issued three days back and accordingly, no-one was permitted to leave the Western province. We are conducting operations in other police areas other than the Western province, in order to trace the people who have left the province against the quarantine order,” DIG Ajith Rohana said on Saturday (Nov. 14).
According to the Police Spokesperson, anyone found in other areas who are proven to have violated the quarantine order will be ordered to follow quarantine procedures for 14-days by the health authorities.
“Sri Lanka Police will supervise such quarantine cases constantly,” DIG Ajith Rohana emphasized.
