COVID-19 cases pass 9,000 mark with 335 new cases on Wednesday

335 COVID-19 cases were reported on Wednesday (28), reported the Department of Government Information.

27 of these cases were reported from Quarantine Centers.

202 other cases were close contacts, and the Department of Government Information said 140 of those cases were reported from areas already placed under quarantine curfew.

106 other close contacts were also reported and they were the contacts of the Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster.

Accordingly, the total number of cases from the Peliyagoda and Minuwangoda clusters is 5731.

The total confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Sri Lanka are 9205 of which 4057 have already recovered and left hospitals.

5111 COVID-19 patients are being treated in hospitals designated for COVID-19 treatment.
