HIV/AIDS tests resume following COVID-19 pandemic

The tests conducted to determine HIV/AIDS positive cases, which was limited in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic has resumed, the National STD/AIDS Control Programme said on Monday (Sept. 21).

In addition to tests conducted on individuals who visit clinics, the programs conducted to identify HIV AIDS positive cases among the community were also broadened, Dr. Lilani Rajapaksha, the Deputy Director of the National STD/AIDS Control Programme said.

A total of 438 HIV AIDS positive cases were confirmed in the country, last year.
