Ballot papers of Postal voting to be distributed island-wide

265,000 ballot papers of the 2020 Parliamentary Election postal voting were handed over to Postal Voting Certification Officers, the Department of Posts said.

700,000 ballot papers were received by the Department of Posts to be distributed, Deputy Post Master General Rajitha Ranasinghe said.

Department of Posts has concluded the acceptance of “Secure Packets containing Postal Voting Ballot Papers.”, he added.

Returning officers had handed over the “Secure Packets containing Postal Voting Ballot Papers” to the relevant District Secretariat offices on the 30th of June, 1st and 2nd of July, Ranasinghe noted.
