Due to the heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours, the level of Kalu Ganga has reached minor flood level, the Irrigation Department has warned.
Accordingly, communities in Ratnapura, Elapatha, Kuruwita, Kiriella, Ayagama Divisional Secretariat divisions in Ratnapura District have been urged to stay vigilant and to evacuate to safe places.
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) says that the general public can contact the hotline 117 for further information on the matter.
