The education ministry has begun provincial level discussions on planning out academic activities when schools re-open for their second terms.

Talks have been held with officials in the Southern, North Central, and North Western regional level offices, education ministry secretary M.H.M. Chitrananda said.

He added that tri-forces personnel and health officials will disinfect and fumigate schools before schools are re-opened in the country.

Schools which were granted early holidays for their first terms, were expected to reopen on May 11, but the government had reversed the move amidst a surge in COVID-19 cases.
