07 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed on Sunday (29), reported the Department of Government information quoting the Director General of Health Services.
The death toll in Sri Lanka is now at 116, a statement added.
The details of the confirmed COVID-19 deaths on Sunday (29) are as follows:
01. A 50-year-old female from Colombo 02. She was identified as a COVID-19 patient at the National Hospital in Colombo and was transferred to the Mulleriyawa Base Hospital for treatment where she passed away at the ICU on the 28th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia and Chronic Lung Disease.
02. A 48-year-old male from Gothatuwa, who had passed away at his residence on the 27th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as Chronic Lung Disease & Diabetes exacerbated by COVID-19 pneumonia.
03. A 73-year-old male from Moratuwa. He was identified as a COVID-19 patient and died on the 29th of November 2020 while receiving treatment at Homagama Base Hospital. The cause of death was ruled as pneumonia exacerbated by the COVID-19 infection.
04. A 70-year-old male from Chilaw who passed away at the Chilaw Base Hospital on the 29th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, a stroke and COVID-19 pneumonia.
05. A 51-year-old female from Akuressa. She was identified as a COVID-19 patient at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where she passed away on the 27th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as Chronic Kidney Disease and COVID-19 pneumonia.
06. A 90-year-old female from Colombo 13. She was identified as a COVID-19 patient at the National Hospital in Colombo and was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where she passed away on the 29th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 pneumonia.
07. A 78-year-old male from Maradana who was ruled dead upon admission to hospital on the 27th of November 2020. The cause of death was ruled as lung failure with COVID-19.
