The Criminal Investigations Department has arrested two suspects including an accomplice of drug kingpin Mohammed Siddique with 12.6 million in cash and 40 sovereigns of gold jewellery in Grandpass yesterday, Police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said they were arrested from a house under the provisions of Dangerous Drugs Ordinance and the prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Police suspect that the money had earn through heroin trading.
Drug kingpin Mohammed Siddique who was arrested in Pakistan and was remanded after brought to Sri Lanka in 2015.
