The Covid-19 infected patient who spat on a PHI at Atalugama in Bandaragama was remanded until December 17 after being produced before the Panadura Additional Magistrate through video technology.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspect was arrested today following health guidelines for committing an offence by obstructing the duties of health officers.
” As the suspect has been identified as a COVID positive patient, the suspect would be transported to the Welikada Prison following health guidelines, rules and regulations,” he said.
