There is no change to the Health Ministry’s decision to cremate COVID-19 victims who pass away, Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara said.
Dr. Bandara told the media yesterday that there was no truth to the social media reports lately that the Health Ministry had decided to allow the burial of those who died after contracting COVID-19.
He said the Ministry has so far not arrived at such a decision. He said the decision to cremate COVID-19 was made after considering scientific and technical facts and the land area of the country.
