Attorney General Dappula De Livera has directed the Acting Inspector General of Police to record a statement from the victim of the LTTE attacks on Buddhist Monks in June 1987, also known as the Aranthalawa Massacre.
State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, the Coordinating Officer to the Attorney General speaking to media said the Criminal Investigations Department was also instructed to commence a Criminal Investigations Department into the incident.
Further, the CID is instructed to submit a progress report on the investigations within two weeks.
