Attorney General Dappul De Livera on Friday speaking at the Colombo DIG Office said there is no discipline in the Police Narcotic Bureau adding where there is no discipline it is impossible to engage in one’s duties in a proper manner.
The Attorney General said senior ranked officers must discipline themselves and set an example for junior ranks to follow.
“You cannot always hide from the law after committing crimes, there will come a day you will get caught,” said De Livera adding “When you do get caught, you will lose everything including your families”.
The Attorney General went on to note “If you want to earn money, step out of service and start your own business. Do not do it while wearing the uniform”.
Attorney General Dappul De Livera said officers in uniform are accountable to protect the rule of law in the country.
